Red Rock state park

Oak Creek

Red Rock State park, located 5 miles west of Sedona offers plenty of family fun, some great hiking trails, and a visitor center for your use. For a small fee (adults - $6.00), you get the opportunity to wander among the picturesque red rocks and along the serene Oak Creek and its riparian ecosystem.
The park consists of a 50-mile trail system, a collection of loop trails that interconnect and offer you views of the red rock vistas, the sounds and shade of Oak Creek and a hike to Eagle’s Nest, the high point of the park with an elevation gain of 300 feet. (Go here for the Red Rock State Park Map) The Eagle’s Nest Loop, the Apache Fire loop, and the Coyote Ridge trail are the backbone of the trail system here and are the major loops in the park. Shooting off these 3 main trails are the Yavapai Ridge trail, the Javelina trail and the Kisva trail which take you, among other places, meandering through the pinyon and juniper woodlands of the park. There are also 2 self-guided trails that offer you numbered points along the way and explain in depth some of the more exciting aspects of the park.

Red Rock State park is a very popular destination and does offer group facilities. Amenities include, but are not limited to water, electricity, picnic tables, and outdoor grills. Many people have their weddings here, and a wedding information packet is available upon request from the park.
